Re: What was your first drum machine?
When I Was 18, I grabbed an Alesis SR-16. That little thing kept me up for hours. I wish I still had it! Any love for the Alesia SR-16 or 18? Pretty cheap but a friend had one running for a minute the other day and it sounded pretty good! I’ve never owned one, but I’ve read a lot of good things abo...

Re: Finishing tracks
Definitely agree on setting a reason and a deadline to finish things. Maybe it’s a four track EP to soundcloud or Or band camp by the end of the year. Something achievable. Telling someone you’re going to do it also adds some pressure in a good way. Specifically with looping, I did this too. I’d ge...

Last months i’m thinking about getting one. Still considering my options. Aw man, so many good options!! Getting something y...

Re: Finishing tracks
That’s something I’ve actually been told before. Deadlines could certainly help. I think my issue with deadlines has always been that there is no REAL deadline when I’m making music solely for myself. I’ve definitely had deadlines for song submissions before, so that’s helped in the past. I guess th...

Re: What was your first drum machine?
The Beats is a great one! It’s crazy to me to think how powerful those things are, and how compact and affordable they are. It’s easy to overlook them as simple, but the fact is, they’re analog, just like the 808, and if we could get the sounds of the 808 out of our heads and swap in a Volca Beats b...
